Final Results for Dana's Away Message Challenge

Thanks to everyone who participated. Without you, the challenge would not exist. Well, actually, it probably would, because I would still need some way to con people into sending me IM love. But thanks, anyway. The final standings are as follows:

Ash - 80
Jen - 60
Leah - 45
Lauren - 30
Jay - 25
Rob - 25
Dani - 25
Maura - 15
Amanda - 10
Mom - 10
Kmrod - 10
Jess - 5
Julie - 5
Stef - 5
Jerryann - 5

Today's quote:
And then I realized they were stronger than we. Because they could stand that these were not monsters. These were men, trained cadres. These men who fought with their hearts, who had families, who had children, who were filled with love, but they had the strength... the strength... to do that. If I had ten divisions of those men our troubles here would be over very quickly. You have to have men who are moral, and at the same time who are able to utilize their primordial instincts to kill without feeling, without passion, without judgment. Because it's judgment that defeats us.
Was from the crazy-ass movie Apocalypse Now.

Despite not knowing the correct answer, Ash and her comrades up at Shenandoah pulled through (overcoming Leah, who consistently held the first place spot throughout the entire Challenge) with this intelligent commentary:

It is a depressing time - we here at Shenandoah Conservatory canNOT meet today's Challenge. we are saddened for the amount of great intellect for which the Challenge is requiring on this, its last run. For several days now, we have looked forward to the Challenge as a way of stepping out of the "musical box" we are placed in here in our world of practice and music making. The time has come for the Challenge to cease and force us back to reality as we know it. Thanks for the days filled of excited phone calls and voice crackling shouts of victory across campus of "I GOT IT! I GOT IT!" Thanks for the victory dances. We are shameful of the taunts towards Leah, first place. As this day goes down in history, we will always look back and remember the joy and satisfaction of recieving our "Dana's Away Message Challenge" points of the day. We will all fill our minds with hopes of the Challenge returning in the future. And with great sadness and drear, we say goodbye (without an answer for today). Please be gentle in its passing.

Congratulations, Ash & Co., and to all who participated. Keep an eye out for the next Challenge, coming sometime after Thanksgiving!
