a stray paragraph, before and after

Fear leads to wisdom, because fear alerts us to something afoot, some viable threat encroaching on our well-laid and defended territory. We’ve groomed and graded this land so well, worn paths through the dirt and on the floorboards from our worried pacing – and now God is here to change something. Fear is bigger than this anxiety. Fear is recognition of real, imminent, already-occurring change.
